Five picnic spots to enjoy Berguedà
Berguedà offers you an array of options for outings and weekend breaks... It’s the best destination for nature lovers, even at lunchtime. You’re never too far from one of the many designated picnic areas. They’re scattered throughout the region, up in the mountains and near to towns. We’ve selected five of them for you. Remember to always take your litter away with you.
1. Plana Rodona Recreational Area (Berga)
You'll find this large picnic area nestled in a forest in the Ensija Mountain Range, within the municipality of Berga. It's got eight well-spaced wooden tables, and there's plenty of shade, although at this altitude it stays cool all year round. There are six barbecues distributed in three blocks of two; they don't have grills, so you'll need to bring your own from home. There's ample space for playing, resting and strolling. It also has a water fountain and a small open structure where you can take shelter if the weather turns bad.

2. Font Terrers Recreational Area (Gósol)
You'll find this picnic area surrounded by meadows in the Cadí Moixeró Natural Park, near the mythical Pedraforca Mountain. It’s got six wooden tables, a block of six barbecues and a water fountain, but there’s no shade whatsoever! Despite being very close to Gósol, you'll feel completely wonderfully secluded from the world. The parking area is used as a starting point for excursions in the surrounding area.

3. Riugréixer Recreational Area (Bagà)
You'll find this picnic area next to the Gréixer River, in the Cadí Moixeró Natural Park, on the outskirts of the beautiful mediaeval town of Bagà. It’s got eight well-spaced wooden tables, some of which are in the shade. There are four barbecues in the centre of the clearing. In addition to the river, there's also a small canal running through the site. You'll be surrounded by water on three sides!
4. La Pineda Recreational Area (La Pobla de Lillet)
You'll find this picnic area at the foot of the Catllaràs Mountain Range, between La Pobla de Lillet and Sant Jaume de Frontanyà. As the name suggests, it’s located in a pine forest. The area has six wooden tables, a block of five barbecues, and toilets. What’s more, you can cool your feet in the nearby Arija River, which is very easy to get to from the table area.

It’s only got two wooden tables and a water fountain, but it's a spacious area with lovely views, ideal for strolling in the surrounding area and enjoying some peace and quiet.
