Shall we go glamping?

Glamping is an increasingly popular option to enjoy nature without giving up any comfort. The term is a portmanteau of the words “glamorous” and “camping”, which pretty much tells you that the experience promises peace and quiet in luxury. Here’s a selection of nearby options for enjoying the coast, the Pyrenees and the finest landscapes in the regions of Barcelona. Are you ready to discover them?

Costa Barcelona

If the arrival of good weather acts as a siren call, an irresistible force pulling you seawards, the Costa Barcelona boasts several glamping sites where rest and relaxation are assured. South of Barcelona, there’s the Garrofer Campsite in Sitges, where you can sleep in an adorable tipi. Staying in the Garraf region, the Vilanova Park Campsite has some fabulous, bright cabins made from light-coloured wood, accommodating up to six people. The third option, a bit further north, is the Tres Estrellas Campsite in Gavà. They say siestas in the shade of its pines are epic, and you can choose between different cabin models, including one that looks like it came straight out of The Mandalorian.

There are also plenty of activities to enjoy in this area. At the Nautical Station in Vilanova, for example, there are myriad water sports on offer. And if you tire of the sea, Garraf Park offers a great variety of waymarked trails and even some climbing routes for the more adventurous.

The southern coast of Barcelona is fantastic, but the northern coast holds its own too. The long beaches of Maresme are a delightful option, ideal for sailing sports, taking a kayak trip from the marinas of Calella or Santa Susanna, or simply lying on the beach and losing yourself in a good book. At the Caballo de Mar Campsite in Pineda, the sea is so close you can take a dip before breakfast, joining the earliest risers. The Globo Rojo Campsite in Canet de Mar and the Els Pins Resort Campsite in Malgrat boast brand-new premium comfort cabins, while the panoramic views from Kanguro Campsite in Sant Pol and the El Far Campsite in Calella are spectacular.

Landscapes Barcelona

The coast is fantastic, but the interior offers unique, often less crowded spots. In the regions of Landscapes Barcelona, you'll find authentic experiences to relive traditions and reconnect with the essence of who we are. Be sure to visit farmers' markets such as the ones held in Vic and Manresa to rediscover the taste of authentic Catalan cuisine and local products made with care and love for the land. As for accommodation, try out the glamping tents at the Rupit Campsite.

Pyrenees Barcelona

Finally, if you want to breathe the pure mountain air on trails amidst unspoiled nature, the Berguedà region is the destination for you. In the regions of Pyrenees Barcelona, you can do a bit of everything: mushroom hunting in autumn, swimming in streams in summer, snowshoeing in winter, or visiting some of the Romanesque churches scattered throughout the area. There are also some great campsites in this part of the world. At Cadí Vacances, you can choose a lovely wooden cabin and you even have the option of a high-mountain spa! If you want the best views of the most iconic Catalan mountains, head to the Mirador al Pedraforca Campsite, or the Repòs del Pedraforca Campsite, both located in Saldes and surrounded by stunning landscapes.

It's a difficult choice! You can find more options on the campsite page of the Barcelona is much more website, and on the website of the Barcelona Campsite Association. There’s something for everyone, so there's no excuse not to start planning your next getaway!
